This case presents the following issue: Was defendant properly convicted of both rape of an intoxicated person and rape of an unconscious person for a single act of sexual intercourse?

Why we’re here…
There’s SCOTUSBlog if you want to follow what’s happening in the United States Supreme Court. There’s At the Lectern if you want to follow the civil side of the California Supreme Court. But if criminal law is your area, there really wasn’t any easy way to follow what’s happening in the California Supreme Court. And Al got tired of always having to answer lots of different questions about when is People v. Thatguy going to be issued. So even though he’s the less curmudgeonly of the two people who administer things around here, he begged Michael to start this blog so he could get to more important things, like vetting jokes for his next The Year’s Cases presentation.
Anyhow, this blog is here to help provide a place for criminal lawyers, defense and prosecution, to go to keep track of our state’s high court.
And thus this blog was born.
The California Supreme Court Criminal Law Blog is run by Michael Goodman and Al Menaster. Al posts most of the content and Michael posts occasionally and tries to keep Al’s posts from looking like they were posted by a marauding band of lunatics.
